Holt Road Culvert - Town of Webster

HOLT ROAD CULVERT - TOWN OF WEBSTER

Holt Road CulvertMonroe County recognized the need to replace a culvert that was more than 80 years old located on Holt Road, approximately .85 miles north of Ridge Road in the Town of Webster.  Over time, the culvert showed signs of deterioration, with spalling or flaking concrete and visible rebar.  Parrone Engineering was commissioned to replace the existing reinforced concrete box culvert.  The firm designed the new structure to conform to New York State Department of Transportation standards.  The culvert was sized hydraulically to pass a 50 year recurrence storm flow of the Mill Creek Tributary and maintains similar vertical alignment to the existing structure to help “turn” the water ninety degrees in an easterly direction.  The firm also designed a maintenance and protection of traffic plan that was implemented to reduce construction costs.
